Train rides with Santa are also offered at the Nevada State Railroad Museum during the annual Santa Train rides. These will be offered from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, and 18. Tickets are $5 per person and can be purchased at the museum.
Step into a Hallmark-worthy holiday scene
Find your spot at the Nevada State Capitol Building to kick off the holiday season for the Silver & Snowflakes Festival of Lights, the annual state tree lighting and illumination of the Capitol grounds. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 2.
The Silver Saddle Ranch also hosts a dazzling display of lights during the Homestead Holidays event. Held Friday, Dec. 9 through Sunday, Dec. 11, you can take photos with Santa and enjoy live music, wagon rides, a craft market, and more.

Even with the chill in the air, Carson City’s outdoor adventures abound! Carson City Parks & Rec will offer guided snowshoe hikes around the area during winter, beginning January 2023. Tickets will be required in advance, so be sure to book your spot once the schedule becomes available at Carson.org/ccpr.
