Empire Ranch Trail in Carson City is an easy, 1.8-mile multi-use trail connecting the south Empire Ranch Estates Park (1466 Empire Ranch Road) to the Morgan Mill Road River Access Area. The trail travels along the Carson River and turns west along the south side of Empire Ranch Golf Course to Empire Ranch Road. A gravel parking area is available at Empire Ranch Estates Park and a paved parking area is available at Morgan Mill Road. Amenities include benches, picnic tables, and a summer-only portable toilet at the Morgan Mill Road River Access Area.
This wide, mostly compacted decomposed granite and native soil trail is ideal for hiking, walking, jogging, biking, and enjoying riverside views. Dogs are permitted under owner control. About 1.1 miles of the trail is part of the Carson River Trail. Open year-round, spring and fall are the best times to enjoy mild weather and scenic surroundings.
