Fallon, the furthest suggested day trip from Carson City is well worth the drive. Known as the Oasis of Nevada, Fallon is surrounded by wide open spaces, internationally known wetlands, wildlife refuge, archaeological area Grimes Point, historic Pony Express trails, state parks, hiking opportunities, and places to go off-road.

From wetlands swarming with birds, to mountains teeming with wildlife, Fallon is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise. Whether you like to hunt, fish, boat, off-road or just explore, Fallon’s breathtaking surroundings have it all.

One of our favorite places to play is Sand Mountain. Adventurers from around the world can’t stop flocking to these picturesque sand dunes for off-highway vehicle (OHV) riding, sandboarding and hiking.

For the arts & culture enthusiasts we recommend stopping in the Oats Park Art Center to explore the wonderful gallery. For the booze hounds, you have to make a stop at Frey Ranch, heritage distillery for some of the smoothest gin, vodka and whisky. You can’t go wrong in Fallon.
