HISTORY TOLD THROUGH ART

The “Y” represents the King of Carson Deer and all the deer that roam our city

The celebrity deer in this mural had a few nick names, “The King of Carson,” and “Grandpa Buck” namely because if his majestic, massive stature and antlers. For nearly 10 years this 20 + point buck reigned supreme across Carson City’s west side neighborhood. He frequently visited homes and businesses and was beloved by many until he passed in September of 2020.

He also represents the many deer that meander through Carson City’s west side bringing smiles to locals and visitors daily. If you’re an early riser, on a lucky day, you may just see them grazing the Capitol Grounds.
