Symphony Presents “Three Continents” Concert

The Carson City Symphony will present its first concert on 2023 with “Three Continents,” a concert eaturing music representing three continents. Conductor and Music Director David Bugli and the orchestra will open the two halves of the program with Johann Strauss Jr’s “Die Fledermaus” Overture and Hector Berlioz “Roman Carnival” Overture. Concertmaster Brian Fox will be featured violin soloist on Franz Schubert’s “Rondo” in A Major, D.438. Also on the program is the full-orchestra premiere of “Chinese Folk Songs Suite” by Hong Kong composer Dr. Mui Kwong Chiu, David Bugli’s “Ruby Mountain Reflections,” and “Hoe-Down” from Aaron Copland’s Ballet Rodeo.

The concert will be on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. at the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William Street. Please note that Gabriel Giró, who was scheduled to appear as guest conductor and violin soloist will not be appearing on this concert, as previously planned, due to circumstances beyond our control.

Tickets will be available online or may be purchased at the door on the day of the concert.
