Enjoy an evening of mystery and mischief when The Great Gadfly Murder Mystery debuts at the Brewery Arts Center. Produced and performed by the Proscenium Players Inc, the production is an interactive murder-mystery done as an old school radio show. Performances take place the first two weekends in November in the BAC’s Performance Hall.

Set at 1929 Lake Tahoe, The Great Gadfly follows the story of a conniving party host, his self-involved guests and the host’s mysterious death. “Nothing beats a great murder-mystery and we hadn’t done one in several years, so it seemed like a great choice for our fall performance,” says PPI board member Rachelle Resnick. “Plus, it’s written by a Northern Nevadan and we love to support a local artist. The fact that the story is set at Lake Tahoe is an added bonus.”

“Audience participation is a huge part of the show,” says Director Fredi Robin Springer. “Shenanigans and hilarity ensue as the audience takes part in grilling the suspect and solving the crime.” Resnick adds “It’s a great opportunity for people to ask their own questions to try to trip up the suspects and to figure out ‘whodunnit.’”

The Proscenium Players Inc was founded in 1965 and is the longest running theater group in Carson City.
