Sierra Nevada Ballet presents a new version of a popular Shakespeare Classic set in the time of film noir. The humorous tale of 12th Night-A Ballet Noir is an entirely new choreographic work by Ananda Bena-Weber based on the play by Shakespeare using a collage of music from the 1940’s. It centers around the twins, “Viola and Sebastian”, separated in a ship wreck and involves a comic love triangle and hilarious sub plot which makes it a tale easily adapted for ballet to include the use of comedic mime.
SNB’s version features a large cast of over 40 dancers headed by several fabulous international ballet stars with wonderful sets and costumes, fabulous music of the 1940’s and all with a Film Noir twist. Do not miss this exciting event!!!
