Carson City Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit Challenge & Demo
Join us at Fuji Park in Carson City for the Annual Regional K9 Unit Challenge & Demo, hosted by the Carson City Sheriff’s Office. This free, family-friendly event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (gates open at 9:00 a.m.) and brings together K9 teams from law enforcement agencies across Northern Nevada.
Throughout the day, K9 units will compete and perform in three core disciplines:

Detection — locating hidden scents or items in simulated real-world search environments

Patrol Work — demonstrating obedience, handler coordination, and protection skills

Agility — navigating obstacle courses under time pressure, showcasing speed, precision, and teamwork
In addition to the competition, attendees can enjoy exciting live demonstrations, meet the handlers and their canine partners, and learn more about the important role K9 units play in public safety. On-site food trucks, refreshments, and event merchandise will also be available.
This annual event highlights the dedication, skill, and bond between officers and their K9 partners while offering the community a chance to connect and learn in a fun, engaging atmosphere. Bring your family, bring your curiosity, and experience these elite teams in action!
