Carson Chamber Singers Present “Joseph & James” Concerts
October 20 in Carson City
Carson Chamber Singers, a 40-member chorus directed by Dr. Gary Schwartz, present Joseph & James on Friday, October 20, at 7:00 p.m., at First United Methodist Church, 200 N. Division Street in Carson City.
The program combines classical and contemporary music. It features Joseph Haydn’s Missa brevis Sancti Joannis de Deo, known as Kleine Orgelmesse (The Little Organ Mass), and songs recorded by James Taylor: “Mocking Bird,” “Sweet Baby James,” “Up on the Roof,” “That Lonesome Road,” “Fire and Rain,” and “Your Smiling Face.”
General admission tickets are $18. Discount tickets for seniors (age 62 plus), students, and members of the Carson City Symphony Association are $15. Youth ages 18 and under are admitted free. Tickets are available online at CCSymphony.com, on Facebook.com/CarsonCitySymphony, and at the door.
Founded in 1985 as a performing group of the Carson City Symphony Association, the Carson Chamber Singers is open to singers high-school age and above. They perform in five or more concerts each year. They have sung with the Reno Philharmonic and sing regularly with the Carson City Symphony. They have performed at several venues in northern Nevada and as far west as Sacramento. Participation is free.
