Happy Chinese New Year!
In collaboration with the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada we will be celebrating Chinese New Year on Saturday, January 25th at 10:00 am. In the Dema Guinn Concourse we will host the Carson Valley Chinese Cultural Group as they perform traditional Chinese music and dances.
We will also have special Nevada Chinatown related objects from our collection on display.
At 10:00 am we will start making Chinese noise makers to help celebrate the New Year, at 10:30 am the dancers will perform in the Dema Guinn Concourse, at 11:30 am everyone will follow the Lion dancers to parade down the street to the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada where more activities will be available.
This program is free to the public. Admission to the museum is $8, free to members and children 17 years old and younger.
