Give that change jingling in your pocket another look by visiting the Carson City Mint Coin Show at the Nevada State Museum, Carson City, on Friday and Saturday, September 18-19, 2026.

Come find out why the old U.S. Mint building has a nationwide following and continues to attract visitors from all around the world.

About a dozen coin dealers will display their numismatic collections in the Dema Guinn Concourse from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.

During both days of the show, indefatigable Coin Press No. 1 will be minting the America 250 commemorative medallion, one-half troy ounce of .999 fine silver limited to only 2,026 strikes. Coin press demonstrations will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Listen to the compelling stories of the Carson City U.S. Mint and Coin Press No. 1 while you watch history in action.

Co-hosted by Northern Nevada Coin and the Nevada State Museum, Carson City, the Carson City Mint Coin Show has something for everyone; from serious collectors to the curious and even families.

“In addition to a grand selection of coins, the Carson City Mint Coin Show also offers hands-on activities that are engaging and educational,” said Nevada State Museum Business Manager Brett Fisher.

Both days will feature Placer mining demonstrations in Loftin Park, where families can pan for minerals from a real sluice box. There will be activity stations, too, featuring coin rubbings and our “Coins Around the World” display.

Admission is $10 per adult and free for members and children 17 and under. Panning at the sluice costs just $10 for a 30-minute Placer mining demonstration.

The Nevada State Museum is located at 600 N. Carson Street in Carson City. Parking is available off Robinson and Curry streets.
