Nevada Artists Association Gallery – Featured Artists’ Reception

Join us Sunday, Sept. 12 from 1-3pm at the NAA Gallery for a Reception featuring the photography of Will Barber, the photography of Tim Ogle and the watercolors of Leanne Ogle. Each person attending this event will have a free chance to win artwork from the artists. Light refreshments will be provided.

These Featured Artists Shows are on display in the Gallery in combination with the NAA Member-only “Autumn Show”.  All shows go up on September 11 and run until October 22.  The Nevada Artists Association Gallery is located on the campus of the Brewery Arts Center, 449 W. King Street, Carson City, NV.  The Gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday from 12-4pm.

Leanna Ogle is a third-generation Nevadan, born and raised in Yerington, NV.  In 2020 she and her husband, Tim moved to Spring Creek, NV and made their home at the foot of the Ruby Mountains.  Leanna  grew up surrounded by strong, artistic women, especially her mother.  She painted in oils many years ago and more recently transitioned to watercolor painting.  Timothy Ogle is a self-taught photographer beginning his photographic journey in 2012. He enjoys spending time outdoors and being in nature. His goal is to make images that are true and represent nature as he witnesses it. His images capture a moment in time, which allows the viewer to feel as though they were there, experiencing the moment for themselves. When the viewer makes an emotional connection with one of his pieces then its story becomes their own. He is honored to have his prints hanging in homes and offices throughout the west.

Will Barber was born in Phoenix, Arizona, and educated at Arizona State University, then Michigan State University where he earned a Ph.D. in fish and aquatic ecology.  He conducted research on shrimp and fish in Australia, moved to Alaska to teach and conduct research before retiring in Nevada. In his photographs, color is his primary focus followed by the interplay of different physical and biological elements in a photograph.  This is the reason why many of his Nevada photographs are colorful (taken either in early morning or late afternoon) and complicated. He is currently completing a book with Dr. Richard Schweikert on Nevada’s geology along its major highways as told through photography.

In keeping with the Governor’s Directives and guidelines, only 10 people will be allowed in the Gallery at any one time.  Our Hosts will be wearing masks and out of concern for others, we hope you will too.
